For the first time in a few decades, the town of Avilla has someone new in the position of Town Manager. With the retirement of Bill Ley, who officially left the office in July, Avilla town council hired Tena Woenker to fill the role. Tena is a good fit for this position, as she has previously managed the towns of Albion and Waterloo, instigating and completing effective developmental projects for both of the communities.
Tena is also filling board positions within the town and county that the town manager participates with. Looking forward to the future, Tena is excited to be working with local boards and commissions and to build relationships with local businesses. Early next year, she and town entities are planning to have a ‘State of the Town’ style meeting with local business owners.
